Kate Neuman is New York-based writer and actor. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Iowa Review, The Independent (UK), Juxtaprose, The Citron Review, The Village Sun, and Six Hens. In 2017, Lamprophonic included her in their Emerging Artists series. 

Kate received an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Hunter College, where she was a Hertog Fellow, in 2015. She was awarded Hunter’s Helen Gray Cone Prize in English Literature, and her thesis was selected for CUNY’s Turnstile Series.

Kate also holds a Master’s in English Literature from Columbia University, where she was a President’s and Nicholson Fellow.

As an actor, Kate has appeared in productions on Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway, and in a couple of TV shows and movies.

Kate teaches creative writing at Hunter College and acting at The Barrow Group Theater Company.
