Personal Essay Workshop

A personal essay is, at its core, an exploration of our connection with the world that we invite the reader to share, a feat of alchemy that joins self-discovery with creativity.

What’s not to love?

For the first month, we’ll focus on “seeding.” In each meeting we’ll read and discuss a (short) published essay; using that discussion as a jumping off point, we’ll write for 30 minutes and then share what we’ve written (sharing is always optional). We’ll explore revision techniques and apply them to the in-session writings.

In the second month, each writer will share a draft of an essay for a workshop discussion that will be guided by the writer’s questions. We’ll also talk about how to get your work published.

Limited to 8 participants.
